I can’t even believe this. Absolutely the most moving performance of this masterpiece ever. How on earth was this woman able to completely, COMPLETELY control her gorgeous voice like this?! The quality of her voice is so very special. It’s like a soothing warm blanket. When I was little, my dear Mother would sometimes put a blanket in the dryer and then sort of surprise me with it; draping it on me, as I worried about absolutely nothing yet. Before I knew the world was sharp. Barbara Lewis’ voice is like that.

This is a miracle we’re witnessing. It’s not of this earth at all. Barbara Lewis is filled with Holy Spirit. And it flows through her. And some of us are lucky, or blessed enough to feel it. Listen at 1:41! Are you kidding me?! I salute you, girl. And I propose my hand in marriage, if you’ll have me.

I'm approaching 70 now, and this is my all-time favourite single ever, from one of my two all-time favourite singers, (the other is the late Dusty Springfield.) I never tire of listening to this beautiful song, and it's just so wonderful that Barbara is still entertaining us some 50 plus years since this song was released. God bless you, Barbara. You're a national treasure!
