Windows 11 24H2 TPM 2.0 Bypass removed is in my opinion a dumb decision

A lot of reactions to the change coming to Windows 11 with no more bypass of TPM 2.0

What you are not mentioning is all of the CNC machines that run off of Windows.Medical equiptment mills press brakes Lazer metal cutting machines wood working machines. Some of these can be updated and others can`t.CT scanners MRI and X-ray machines. All of the costs of these world wide will be passed down to us the consumers.

I installed it in an unsupported hardware, but it refused to update, having bypassed requirements.

It makes even less sense when W10 support ends next year and there's only 31% market share for W11 currently. W10 was my last version of windows, and should be many other's last version of windows as well..

are you talking about the bypass that can be done on 23h2?

lots of used computers on Ebay that are not Windows 11 compatible for sale, with! windows 11 installed. Been waiting for microsoft to kill off the option to install on unsupported hardware. I don't agree with or disagree with the decision but can say I was expecting this to happen sooner or later.

it's not possible to create emulated TPM? like anyone did on hackintosh and some DXE file

Don't you worry there are a lot of smart people out there, there inevitably will be unofficial release of 24h2 without the TPM 2.0 requirement.

Currently TPM 2.0 is not in use. Other than Bit Locker what is it used for? I do not use Bit Locker. Never will.

You can lock your system to stay on 23H2, not upgrading to 24 version. Get your iso file while you can.

Bro, I totally disagree. There's an awful lot of us gamers who built our own $4k-6k machines from the ground up, who have non-TPM procs, but screamers, that would run circles around any SGI machine (exaggeration of course for those of you who know what a Silicon Graphics machine is) within the last 3-4 years. I dont want to spend a pretty penny on a Win11-TPM-supported chipset and all supported hardware for simply being compatible with Win11. I'll run Win10 for another 5 years if I need to. Just sayin'

Windows 10 is end of life in circa 14 months, and several of my computers are well able to march on past then. So it's landfill. So good for the environment.

you can do it in the registrey editor and tell it to by pass it

Honestly I bought a laptop in 2020 it came with a 6th gen i5 and it was bought brand new so if a pc this recent doesn't pass this is something that should never be done.

I'm on WiN11 23H2 (ASUS P5Q-EM Xeon E5450 3.0 OC3.6GHZ) but I'd bet someone out there will remove stuff so we can still be Happy

Not sure but if people have not yet bypassed 2.0 yet, very few left that want to. Is not Bitlocker prone to issues, perhaps only in the past?

I'm looking forward to Gilles Linux videos. Quite a few alternatives to Windows out there. The problem is, most people who use Windows are doing so out of necessity as their daily applications only run on windows.

Linux starting to knock on doors even louder and harder.

They will find a way. If not, then stay on Windows 11 23h2, or Windows 10. And there is always Linux as an option.
