In Islam we beleive souls asks God to go back to do good deeds but there is no return, so that what they regret not doing good deeds and not making God happy with them. We beleive that the person after death would see his place in hell or paradise but he wont be there until after the judgement day because God is just where every one see his book which include all of his deeds and if the good exceed the bad thats a good start, but there is always one condition beleiving and surendering to the one and only God.
