What if College Admissions Was a Lottery?

Even though I am a legacy, I don't think it should be considered. A lot of people write off all of your hard work by saying "Why do you try? Your mom went to Harvard so you'll get in" and if you do get in everyone says "but you're a legacy" like you didn't work your butt off too. I'm not a senior but I do know legacy students. Money and status don't equal character. It works both ways.

It shouldn't be a random drawing because there r people who should and deserve to be there and they might not even have a chance at a good college and might have to settle for a low unknown college

This system is already in place in China for elementary to high school, however it isn’t even dependent on your scores but based purely on luck and where you live

I went to a community college in Florida. Got a above average GPA for and AS. And transfer to the largest University in the Country. And for kicks and giggles I applied to Stanford, NYU, and Yale and got accepted. My opinion is community college saves money, time and give you a good opportunity to move forward if you have the right plan

This is technically the French way to access healthcare studies. You don't want it, it's constant stress and misery for us students.

In Portugal

The best universities are the state ones and the selection system is basically who has the highest grade enters first until they fill the spaces

Lottery for high GPA is stupid. Trying to please the instructor or copy your way through the course and getting high GPA is totally unfair to the genuine people.
