I talk a lot on this channel about computer science as well as the careers that it leads to such as software developer or software engineer. But the truth is, the industry of technology has many other amazing careers that have nothing to do with coding.

Many people also don’t like to code or are scared to, so here are some alternative tech jobs that have no coding involved. There are some very lucrative tech careers that won’t even require you to write a single line of code.

In some of these careers you can write code a lot, in some of them you write a little bit of code, and in some of them, you will never write any.

Just want to point out that the CIO position is usually the top technology executive of any company regardless of the activity or product of that company (anything from Walmart to McDonalds to Southwest Airlines, who is probably quite stressed at the moment). The top executive even of a Technology Company is still a CEO and there there is still a CIO / CTO that reports into that CEO is is much more focused on the technology while the CEO is still a bit more "big picture".

Entry-level BDR positions at a tech distributor will pay from $50k-75k depending on location and size/scope of employer. SoCal/SF/NY will probably be more. To make the big $ (>$100k/yr) you should work for the vendor (Dell/hpe/cisco/etc) or a value added reseller like Insight, CDW, Sirius, etc.
