If you’re going for steak for a loved one this Valentine’s day, jazz it up with this creamy peppercorn sauce recipe. This can be made without alcohol if you prefer - simply don’t add the brandy.

This is made with black peppercorns and it’s really easy to make in advance. Simply reheat the peppercorn steak sauce when you’re ready to serve up your romantic meal!

Ingredients (Serves 4 | Prep time: 25m | Cooking time: 25m | 230 calories & 21g fat p/serving):

- 2 tbsp whole black Peppercorns
- 40g Butter
- 2 Shallots
- 50ml Brandy
- 1 Beef stock cube
- 100ml Double cream
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Just to say that this video is my go to for peppercorn sauce. I should really just remember it, but i keep coming back to this...just in case. Been using it for at least 3 years now so thought it best to give you props! Thank you for taking steak night to the next level for us. Big loves

I used your ingredients and method without brandy and used vinegar with chicken stock cube as an alternate to beef stock, it came out delicious, thank you for this easy method.

Best peppercorn sauce ever. Better than when i go to restaurants. I mix it up using slightly different stuff depending what i have at home. Usally use red wine instead of brandy though!

Oh my this is lush made it for the first time this evening, I was in a bit of a rush so just listened and did. I just used white onion chopped mega fine, admit to not following the measurements but turned out fantastic none the less. Will defo make this again thanks for recipe. ❤

I've cooked this a couple hundred times. First in the restaurants then at home. I find it's best to add your brandy/cognac with my shallots, garlic and mushrooms I then flambé before adding the rest of the ingredients.
