"British radio host Mike Graham invited a climate protester on his program Tuesday with the intention of thoroughly embarrassing the young man—only to completely own himself.

Cameron Ford, a spokesman for the climate activism group Insulate Britain, joined Graham on his TalkRadio morning show ostensibly to talk about his organization’s disruptive protests that have blocked British roadways. Recently, the nation’s transport secretary announced an injunction against the group to ban them from England’s “entire strategic road network.”

That was Mike Graham he grows cement and then makes things from them. Brilliant, marvelous, I don't think I ever want to talk to any of those people.

The carbon is still in the timber, that's why it's more sustainable.

Cameron was having a hard time not laughing when the guy said you can grow concrete.

Another thing with concrete is the sand required. Most people would likely think, "Hey, there's plenty of sand in the world, much more than trees. Why is that an issue?" Well, structural concrete actually requires a specific type of sand that is angular versus the type of sand typically found on beaches, etc., which is has a more rounded grain. You can actually look into it more and you'll see that there organizations illegally harvesting angular sand in countries like Bangladesh and devastating their ecosystems due to the demand.

When wood is used as a building material the wood itself is captured carbon. Concrete on the other hand requires portland cement that needs to be fired to significant temperatures (usually using carbon-based fuels) releasing carbon to the atmosphere. Concrete is not considered sustainable.
