One of our favorite starships is the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and we get up close with this new two-foot replica of the filming miniature from Chronicle Collectibles. We learn how this model is constructed, painted, and lit up just the way it was for the show--a worthy replica of Starfleet's Galaxy Class flagship.

I'm really happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but the USS Enterprise 1701-D replica on the unreal engine was the best replica of all time. OF ALL TIME.

IMO: It would be nice to keep the scale the same for all the Star Ships so you can get a true sense of size and scale from the whole collection.

She is immaculate! The Enterprise-D is my favorite Starship of all time.

it is based on generations not the series. The 1701-d behind the shuttlebay is in black, in the series it was yellow. The escape pods also look like the generation versions rather than the tv series

I've been wanting a high detail model of the Enterprise D but this can not be it, the guy talks about this being very accurate and based on the 4 foot model from TV, not the movie version. We can clearly see at the aft of the nacells at 2:53, a detail that was added to the 6 foot model in generations.

Plus, for all the talk of metal armature to eliminate droop, that is an INCREDIBLY droopy looking model. Secondary hull is tipping backwards and the pylons are drooping like crazy. Look at that final shot - the two nacelles are angled away from each other.

The deflector dish is from the 6 foot... the 4 foot one is more blocky.

I'm noticing a LOT of surface detail flaws. It's even embarrassing. I'm wondering how that compares to the final product.

Some of the surface details looks a bit shabby and gritty 😖

For $1, 701 it better have a better build/paint quality than that. If it was a rush job to meet Comic-Con, it's forgivable, but if I got that in the mail as a customer I would be like...nope.

This isnt a replica of the 4-footer. The 4-footer model had a thicker saucer section border. It seems to be a mix of the 4-footer for the nacelles and the 6-footer for the saucer.

Even with the details wrong and not all the windows giving light, I really love the project!

He said he based it off the 4 foot model yet it has the 6 foot proportions on the saucer and Engineering hull. Some of the tells are the thickness of the sensors on the ring of the saucer and the Shape of the Deflector dish.

Boo, do them all "IN SCALE"! Pick a scale and stick with it. It is so frustrating that you have all these scales, but few are all in the same scale so you can have them all side by side to get a better sense of the universe. I mean do a 350 Reliant, but also do a 1000 scale.

The Galaxy Class is my second favorite Star Trek ship, the Avenger Class being my number 1, but seeing this model looks so good!

I immediately went to their website to pre-order it... it costs near $2000! I can't justify that amount on a collectable.

That would definitely make a good project to upgrade to better quality. Its pretty basic but the foundation is there!

It sounds like there's some animal cruelty going on in the background. Someone should inform PeTA 😂
