I can understand Sue wanting to do something to help Carrie. But what did Tommy do to her? Used to think Sue did right here, but I've wavered with that view over the years. Tommy feelings were not being considered here, he did want Sue to have that night and he wanted to be the one to give it to her.

This means so much especially knowing how much sue wanted to go to prom and win the crown but knowing her wrong doing she was willing to give up her dream to make a right
