Robert Zemeckis brings us a story about love, loss, and life as seen from one camera, in one spot, over generations. Here's my review for HERE!

Whether they succeed or not, I really appreciate movies that try new things in a medium where it’s not easy to try new things

I'm 36 I saw this movie yesterday in theaters I was the only one innthe theaters who wasn't a senior citizen lol I thought it was adorable how so many elderly couples came to see this movie and you can hear them talk to each other about it. What I loved about this movie is that it never really straight up tells you what year it is, based on the furniture, clothing, vehicles in the yard, and what's going on you can pretty much pick up like ok we in the 1900s, 1930s, 1950s, 1980s, 2000s which which I absolutely loved. This is one of my favorite movies of the year it's such a beautiful movie about life.

Answer to the last question is Tron Legacy, generic hero story but the way the world is presented and how the sound track enhances it makes the movie feel so unique.

My wife and I were literally speechless. We have been married 33 years and our last child/young adult just moved out. We could see ourselves and our season of life when the movie reached that era. This movie is deep and powerful and will help married couples especially bring what matters back into focus. Best movie we have seen this year. Very real.

The cameraman had the easiest job in the world in this movie 😂

The whole people dying and giving up on your dreams in same spot deeply shook me.

1917. Take away the “whole movie is one continuous shot” gimmick, and it’s just another war movie. But the execution made it truly unique and engaging, you felt like you were right there with the soldiers.

Really can't understand all the negative reviews. Sure the de-aging was a little weird at times and it was a bit schmaltzy, but it was a really beautiful, interesting and innovative movie. I loved it

This is a love story about people who live in the same house. This is a beautiful film. It’s about being happy, dealing with grief, regret and disappointment, loss, memory, remembering,
and living with the families you’ve been given. I loved the sets. It was a sweet history of this one room and the stories to be found there. I loved how it was filmed with post card snapshots that cut into the screen and showed aspects of both the room
And people’s lives. We’ve all drive by houses at night when the lights are on and wonder about the people who live inside. This is like that. It was nicely shot family room with the families going on about their lives. Time and History flies by them. At first I thought I don’t see how this could work but it was a great film. Thanks for discussing it. Everyone should see it.

Chronicle was a film like that. Its a blend of found footage and superhero/sci-fi, which adds the realism of the former to the excitement of the latter to produce a unique feel

I love the ending. I have numerous personal experiences with family members going through dementia, and I can safely say that this IS an accurate depiction of what happens when they finally remember something close to them. It's like they come back to life, regain consciousness. It's beautiful in a bittersweet kind of way, and I feel like the film portrays it perfectly.

My husband and I built our own house with blood sweat and tears. The rafters were exposed over the summer as we built. In that summer a pair of swallows built their nest in the rafters and hatched eggs. We left that empty nest up there and sealed the roof. I placed a little note in a tiny bottle 'first family raised in this home'. Id like to think someone will find it someday ❤️

Your Yucatan Asteroid point is definitely something I was thinking the moment it happened, especially as we learn this is New England.

The great significance of the passage of time truly does have such a great significance when it comes to how time passes

“Here” is based on a graphic novel that was really innovative in its story telling. If you google it, you can find the original version online. For a movie based on a comic/graphic novel, it is successful where others fail in sticking to the source concept.

From Wikipedia:
"Here" is a 6-page comics story by Richard McGuire published in 1989, and expanded into a 304-page graphic novel in 2014. The concept of "Here" (in both versions) is to show the same location in space at different points in time, ranging from the primordial past to thousands of years in the future.

Nice to see a positive reaction. The negative reviews where saddening me because I think this looks really good. January 2025 UK though 😤

This feels like the kind of movie my wife and I should go on a date for. I have a feeling I'll be bawling my eyes out at the end, but it'll be worth it. 😂
