Not sure how the naming convention goes in the US, but the 2025 XC90 will be the revised model, not this.

We've owned a T8 since 2017. This car was light years ahead of its rivals. In the household since then we had a BMW 3i, BMW X1 and VW ID3. I was never able to change the car because of resistance from the family members. It still is their favourite ride and I always looked at it as a hidden Gem. People are not aware how a bliss a drive it is

Great Review! I think its size might make it inconvenient for smaller neighbourhoods though or cramped parking spaces, maybe the XC60 is a good compromise between this and the XC40 which is too small and with lesser range.

I thought you guys have the 2nd facelift MY2025 model, this is still MY2024. Drove it for a year. I would not recommend getting this one if someone is shopping for one as new, the updated model is vastly improved when it comes to infotainment The AAOS in the car is the single worst experience - mostly because of all the hopes and promises, but - you can't use Android Auto. People ask - why would you want AA, if you have AAOS - well, many reasons. There is no way to have maps and media on 1 screen, all you can do is have the 4 row base view which shows song name and destination/ETA, but not like standard split view in android auto. 2nd is streaming quality - the car will not stream the spotify/any other kind of music in the quality you can get on your phone. Features are added to AA faster than AAOS, some apps don't work that well with the Volvo display. It's stupid to not enable Android Auto. The digital cockpit is a joke. You can't customize whatsover. Want different color? Nope. You can do 1 thing - turn the map on or off. That's it. Can youi display media info on cockpit display? Nope... Can you display other nav apps in there if you use waze or Sygic or whatnot? Nope. It only supports Carplay apple maps, and that too only came like a year ago. With moving to AAOS, the car lost automatic parking assistent, which it had since 2015... Car of this size, I don't care if you are a Tokyo drift king who can park it with 180 spin on reverse between two parked Bentleys, where one tiny bumper ding would cost a new Volvo XC40 to repair - I expect it from 5 meter 2 meter wide box to help me parallel park if it has all sensors, cameras, radars. It's just software feature Google doesn't give a crap about and Volvo would have to make it as an app. If someone is buying it as 5 seater - not sure if it is even an option on some markets - Don't. Even if you never even have more than 3 people at a time in the car, get the 7 seater. If you don't get the 3rd row, what the lovely people of Volvo do is to give you a plywood cover for the hole where the seats would be, so yeah, you get pretty decent storage underneath the boot floor, but all the bits and pieces to cover the electronics in the back are just... made to measure ..probably for a different car. I spent the first month identifying all the 100 rattles and squeals from the rear, stuffing it with pieces of rubber tape to make the car not sound like 30 year old minivan after structural damage to the body. Just get the 7 seater, all will be fine. If you enjoy listening to music, the upgrade to the top audio trim is a must, I had only the HK..it was so bad. The car is a huge dome inside, the subwoofer ..I had to literally go and put my stupid face on the rear right wheel arch where the subwoofer is hidden if it is really there. There is no bass, there is no..sound stage to speak of. The Harman Kardon is not worth the interior stickers on the doors. Or get the base and have it custom fitted for the money. The panoramic glass is soft as hell. Had two stone chips that, tiniest little rocks that turned the roof into a web, luckily Volvo is the one that moved from tempered to laminated glass because lo and behold - nobody wants to touch panorama glass repairs, Volvo will want to replace the whole unit, with frame and all, for like 3k, whilst you can just replace the glass of course, but finding someone willing to do it was a feat. You also absolutely have to get the double glazed windows, I had just the Plus trim, not the Ultimate, the noise in the car was not acceptable for such car. What is great about this car that besides Q7 with rear axle steering (not standard Q7 without the option), it has the smallest turn radius in the class. This car with 3m wheelbase is turning on same narrow road almost as easily as my VW Golf, X5 or GLE definitely would not do it in one turn. For city driving and parking, it would need only better side cameras to help prevent rim scratches, although on the R20 rims there is still quite a tall sidewall, I would not want to go with bigger wheels anyway. The cameras in mirrors are very poor quality, you have a better chance to get a feeling of how close you are to the curb from the 360 view rather than with direct view from the side camera. But in any case, for new car buyers, wait for the facelift. Looks better, has the new system, the interior middle console is revised and much more useful, the wireless charger is revised, it will be a much better car to live with.

Buy this and any similar vehicle if you don't care where the ultimate ownership of the company is and where the meter by meter location data about you is ending up.
