Here's my little guide to achieving the best outcome in Clan Lavellan questline (=Clan Lavellan survives; elves installed as members of Wycome City Council):

1. Use Leliana in "Contact Clan Lavellan" war table operation.
2. Use Cullen in "Protect Clan Lavellan" war table operation.
3. Use Leliana in "Break Venatori Hold on Wycome" war table operation.
4. Use Leliana in "Restore Order in Wycome" war table operation.
5. Use Cullen in "Protect Clan Lavellan and Wycome" war table operation.

It annoys me how easy it is to get Lavellan's clan killed. I don't think any of the other origins need to go through something as distressing as that. I'm glad Sera's Red Jenny confirms some of them might still be alive... It sucks it had to happen at all.

Sera might have been bitchy and horribly bigoted, BUT her being the ONLY DAMN ONE in the game to actually console me over my clan's death and apologize for not doing so earlier is one of the big reasons why I love her. Plus, my canon inquisitor (i.e. my first one) got along great with her in spite of her anti-elvish prejudice,

When I played the game I didn’t know it was possible to kill your clan lmao but BY SOME MIRACLE I chose the right options and they lived!!! Thank the Maker for that...

Sera dislikes the Dalish for shoving their beliefs on her for being Elf, yet she looks for the Inquisitors clan without question because she cares for her Inky. She takes initiative to try and make things better, even when she disagrees with them. Thats a level of mature and caring most characters lack.

Sera’s childishness can make her quite mature.

Great and really nice that in truth, secretly, Sera doesn't really hate or dislike all things "Elfy", as she calls it, she just makes an exception with the Inquisitor and her clan, dead or alive. It's a sweet and nice change, even coming from her, maybe though because, gaining her approval high enough, or not as a contributing factor and all, she relates to her because they both never had any brothers or sisters before, despite how Sera always says she never knew or cared about her background and stuff like that, so, she really has come a long way, in terms of accepting the Inquisitor as another Elf like her, possibly also like her only real big sister in spirit, at least in my opinion, perhaps.

Never played and elf or female for that matter. But I also always had trouble getting along with Sera. I have low tolerance for narrow minded people. She has her right to feel what she likes, but I wish she wasn't so damn narrow minded that she would break up with the female inquisitor over beliefs. Like one thing I like about the other romance options is how accepting they are of one a other. Especially Bull, he's a bro and a lover. Best combination.

I played 500 hours and play elf twice and yet I failed again. Even after read dragon age wiki... they're so easy to get killed I hate it.
