"Kids are not required to show ID when they check-in or board domestic flights. All the family needed to do was have Grayson board using Mason’s boarding pass. Had Mason’s boarding pass been presented to the gate agent and gone beeeep in the scanner, the computer would have thought Mason had boarded the plane and we wouldn’t be discussing this right now." Even though this is the case, Delta should have told the customers who were on stand-by the flight was full. People who buy seats should have precedence over stand-by passengers.

I would love to have an airline CEO in a live interview where I get to ask the: If I'm going to fly on a plane with 80 seats, and I purchase all 80 seats so I'm the only passenger on the plane, what gives them any reasonable right to put people in seats I've already paid for?

When clients of mine pay for a 4 hour block of my time. They get that four hour block. We've agreed to the 4 hours, we've agreed when I'll be onsite to perform the design, setup, repair, troubleshooting what have you. They know what is required of them to be prepared prior.

I've shown up where none of this has been done, I've shown up to install router to router VPN's and they don't have the Internet Circuit even ordered. They get charged the four hours and I don't double book it or think I can do some other work unless I'm going to refund them that.

Not sure the additional compensation is going to undo this very bad publicity.

It’s not about a taking a seat it’s about Delta overselling A-flight and flight attendant, they better be compensated

In this world of instant video real customer service will be shown instead of padded numbers.

They need to be sued for breach of contract and distress.

People's ignorance is just mind blowing. The flight was not overbooked. This man bought a ticket for his eldest son, who decided to travel home on an earlier flight. This means that the passenger did not show up on the flight for which the ticket was purchased. When there is a "no show" the seat becomes available for a standby passenger, someone who purchased a last minute ticket but does not have a guaranteed seat. This situation is part of the terms and conditions, which passengers agree to when purchasing a ticket. It was the passenger who decided to travel on a different flight. The airline cannot be held responsible for the decisions made by its passengers. Remember that when you buy a plane ticket, you are signing a contract with the airline, and that contract is the only thing that is valid in court. If the situation is taken to court, the airline wins the case, as there is a contract signed by both parties.

airlines need to get sued or fined more until they stop this practice of overbooking . . every video like this costs them millions in stock value, all to try to squeeze out the cost of a seat or two. ... keep the vids coming! !!!! airline CEO's will take notice eventually when there bottom line deteriorates due to they're greed.

Consumers should really sue airlines for constantly overbooking. So what are f the passenger don’t show up, they paid for it. This happens constantly and one of these days, these airlines will meet the right one they won’t put up with it .

I just had my first two flights with Delta and enjoyed it. Learning of this incident has changed my opinion. What is wrong with these flight attendants? Common sense flew out the window.

Question, if they bought the seat for their 18 year old son, where did they plan to put the extra child/car seat?

Nowadays with flight apps like Skiplagged airlines don’t know if everyone is going showing up, that’s why they over book flights. The family should’ve got a boarding pass for the seat and checked in for their child.
