Insane. Peter helped wake me up. I have since quit my job as a government employee (leech), left the US, bought precious medals, and save like a mad man and live in a productive economy (Germany). this guy actually nailed it, remember how he was on CNBC as far back as 06 with his relatively straightforward fundemental analysis..and he does strike me as a down to earth person..also he did and does have skin in the game..even if conspiracy theory lunatics have embraced him.

Much of what Schiff says and is saying is very similar to things I heard said back in the late 1980s and early 1990s by a guy named Larry Burkett. The only difference is that Schiff is operating closer to the actual events as they are unfolding. Back when Burkett was predicting a future "economic earthquake", it was hard to take him seriously since the economy at that time was so much better than it is now.

God, I wish I had known about Ron Paul and Harry Browne back then. I did have ONE classmate in HS who was a self-proclaimed "Libertarian" who, even though he was one of the smarted people in my class, I had difficulty respecting him and his views at the time since so many--including my own Liberal family--had such dissimilar views at the time. Back in my "sheep" days. :)

Also the Socialist magazine Monthly Review predicted back in the 1980s that there would be a financial crisis every since Reagan started the path of deregulation of the financial sector.

Maybe until there is a second crash, Americans will begin to care about our financial issues. The only voters that seem to care about this were Ron Paul supporters and they were all dismissed as being too radical.

This is an issue I consider to be very important and I know it won't be discussed in the upcoming presidential elections, unfortunately. I'm not sure if it's because politicians are in the pockets of big banks or if it's because our politics are being dumbed down.
