The TRUTH About Palm Oil #shorts

Dr. Janine shares the truth about palm oil. She explains that palm oil comes from the fleshy fruit of oil palms which are harmful to the ecosystems because they are a monoculture. Unrefined palm oil is often called red palm oil because of the reddish color that comes from the vitamins A and E it contains. Unfortunately, most of the palm oil we see has been refined going through many steps including bleaching, deodorizing, and neutralizing making it very inflammatory. Dr. Janine recommends that if you are using palm oil avoid refined palm oil and look for an organic red palm oil.

.... if palm oil is unenviroment friendly because its a monoculture, so is sunflower oil and other seed oil. But palm oil is produce thr palm trees by multi years harvest of palm seeds, an evergreen trees, whereas all other seed oils are 100% clear cut harvested seasonal
Thus the above beg the question which is more eco-, enviromental friend:
palm oil or (other) seed oils eh sunflower used oil, rapeseed

Well I think most indonesian would say: You do what you want for so many reason, but we don't.
Yesterday the issue about deforestation and now changed to medical health issue, what next issue to counter oil palm for not compete with sun flower and soy bean oil?
If you do not buy or consume palm oil that's ok, we'll sell it to other continent or we use it for our self.

I think the hydrogenated ones are what i see in U.S. grocery stores like sprouts and whole foods that look more like vegetable shortening than proper palm oil. I seem to get closer to the natural state when I buy the ones from the local African stores. (As a Ghanaian, I prefer to buy it from the source anyway, same with my black soap and shea butter — west african vendors only, made by west africans and sold by them too.)

palm oil is never hydrogenated, and it can be produced sustainable and even organic certified. Please make sure to include the truth.

As a Niger Deltan, I grew up eating red palm oil. I no longer eat it, because I don't trust the improved variety. It gives me stomach aches. But whenever I find the smaller and less juicy wild palm nuts, I make sure to buy them and cook banga soup with it.

What about All the GMO Seeds for refined vegetable oils, hydrolysed and with additives

I think that all oils, even Canola oil from Canada, are grown in a monoculture. Palm oil is almost saturated, so not really needing the hydrogenation that you speak of. No double C-C bonds.

Harmful for ecosystem? How does the most efficient plant for oil, saving 5 times of land compared to alternatives, grows on peatlands that is too acidic for food farming destroy the environment? Because of palm plantations we are able to restore our forest, locals do not go to logging for survival. By taxing palm produce we fund forest restoration and national parks (protected forest).
