It seems that people are either ignorant, they just don't care or, finally, they cannot afford the price of good food. The 3 together maybe? They just continue to buy palm oil.

The fact is.. palm oil 10% of land use. soybean oil 60% of land use. Sun flower oil 12% according 2016 statistic.

People need to realise the problem is the process and not palm oil. Palm oil actually requires much lesser land to grow than alternative biofuels .

This is not about the environment. The European Union fears that their rapseed oil business cannot compete with palm oil (CPO). So they bring environmental issues to boycott CPO, so that people use rapseed oil. It's not about the environment, it's about European Union business.

The use of crude palm oil (CPO) for biodiesel production can contribute to an increase in food prices. As CPO is a key ingredient in many food products, diverting a significant portion of it to biodiesel production reduces its availability for food use. This creates supply constraints, leading to higher prices for palm oil and other edible oils, which can ripple through the global food market. Additionally, increased demand for palm oil in energy markets can drive up land prices and encourage deforestation, further affecting food supply and prices. Thus, while biodiesel supports renewable energy goals, it can have unintended economic impacts on food security, especially in countries reliant on palm oil imports.

Can someone explain to me the connection to palm oil.
The problem is deforestation, and if palm oil gives a high yield it's better than other options?
I don't get why everyone hates on palm oil instead of the practice in general.

It's really hard to avoid palm oil nowadays. People use it in almost everything. I know only one type of chocolate bar that doesn't have any palm oil in it.

The dangers of using palm oil is truly not discussed enough. I do care about the environment and I do my own research to educate myself, but I only recently heard about this issue, which is crazy to me, because it's a huge problem! And now that I'm aware of it, I realised so many products contain palm oil. It's almost impossible to avoid it completely.

But palm oil is also needed isn't it?
So what are the suitable or sustainable alternatives.

When presenting and issue, also present better solutions or workarounds.

I make my own toothpaste 🦷 with coconut oil (I make myself with the fruit) and baking soda. I can tell the baking soda is not indispensable. It is also a great personal deodorant, in which case the baking soda is needed! I avoid hair products now so that after my last wash my hair has basically been clean as hair products weight it down and because it is curly I get it wet sometimes to get tightened curls. I have not used soap for bathing since 2017.

i cant stand this world, literally everything you do harms the world and you just have to live in the jungle naked eating fruit the whole time (which would kind of be cool) but eating meat, using/eating things that have palm oil etc. it just wont stop I CAN'T STAND IT

When making a video about environmental damages, maybe mention the biggest rain-forests destroying factor and greenhouse gas contributor - ANIMAL AGRICULTURE!

What no one seems to realize is that there is not enough land in the tropics to provide palm oil products for right billion people.
It took the annihilation of the indo Malayan rain forest to make that clear. All of the worlds tropical forests are being destroyed mainly today for palm oil. And it's still not enough.
Yet strangely enough the world got along just fine without the stuff.
Most of Indonesia's palm exports were going to India and Pakistan to make laundry detergent last I heard.
