We've actually got one of these living in the garage thats even bigger than that one :D
They're great pest control. Mosquitos and other pests will get eaten by them. I've named her Rosie. She's very polite. haha
Thank you for taking care not to harm them <3
By the way, I'm not even in australia - they get that big in the US too, yall ;)

I have arachnophobia so if I saw a spider that big I'll sprint so fast I could win the olympics

We get these cellar spiders in the UK too - particularly in the southern parts. We call them 'spindleys' in our house.
They are harmless and hang quietly in corners, so we leave them alone

I have 34 currently in my home. We call them cellar spiders in the U.S. Good for pest control and black widows. Love these little guys. ❤

I miss my granddaddy long legs spiders I had in my last place, because they caught the roaches and other bugs. They were a perfect pest control! I'd love to have a bunch now! I even searched Google just a few days ago to try to find a source to get them, but found none.

I've had one of these in my room for a bit now. They're harmless, don't get in the way AND great pest control! Gets rid of so many flies and moths. However I recently looked and saw it had an eggsac..not sure exactly how to handle the situation.

I love insects and have been keeping them for a while, but I never managed to up my arachnid handling skills until recently. Those daddy longlegs/cellar spiders are so light, you don't even feel them on your hand, which was quite a pleasing discovery for me and it lessened my apprehension by a lot, but oh my god - it seems almost impossible to take them out just by using my hands because they're so wiggly and jump off my arms first chance they get 🙈 To any arachnophobics that don't mind jumping spiders too much because of their cuteness: Try searching for a close up image of a cellar spider's "face". They look like they're constantly on the verge of tears, like a drawing of a sad chibi character and it's actually adorable 😭💜

We keep these spiders in my house, one time a hornet got into my room in summer and it got caught in one of these spider’s nests and ending getting eaten by them, it took awhile but it was pretty cool seeing those spiders wrap up that wasp and kill it. Thank you spiders!
