Everyone keeps saying stuff is inedible but like... They're not ACTUALLY putting those things in your food... So it's obviously inedible... but you're not eating it...

this is why working in fast food is so difficult sometimes, we as employees don't have the time and resources to make the food actually look like the picture, especially when we are set to a speed standard and we have to have your food out the window in 60 seconds. There are TONS of people who complain about their food not looking like the picture and they want refunds or they want us to remake it and make it look like the sandwiches on the menu. "Ma'am I'm sorry but if i made it look like the picture it wouldn't be edible!" As a manager of 8 years I've had to deal with this a lot and it's frustrating...

for people saying this is fake, well it isn't. Of course the technique will vary depending on the photographer but the main idea for these tricks are true since photo shoots take hours to do and you don't want things to melt, move or fall. And if you say they should advertise that well you saw the video and they showed the real version so would you be okay and totally on board if a company sells you something like that?? All flat, melted and messy?? Don't think so...besides it's 2020 y'all should know by now that marketing is about persuading a customer even if it's not true...and that comes from someone who's studying that

This reminds me of when I was living in Japan. Many restaurants have a display in the front full of plastic or wax duplications of their food. Being American (and used to these advertising hacks) I was shocked that the food I received was as beautiful as advertised. The same mostly held for McDonald's, Burger King, etc. The food wasn't squashed and sloppy looking like I'm used to, but matched the menu pictures. 🤯

“It’s not edible now!” It’s food styling for photos, it’s all about aesthetics. The food has to look good for hours while they try get the best photo/video. Food styling and making fake food is honestly an art form and it’s so interesting
