People say to replace the cover anyway because you save on future labor costs right?

If you’re removing the cover just for a $15 gasket you might as well replace the plastic cover too unless you really have that much faith in plastics

BMW tech here. Just replace the valve cover. Elring makes it and it comes with the gasket already because you will be doing the job again once the valve cover cracks. The engineering department knows exactly how many heat cycles these can take. Also, when doing this job check the condition of the fuel lines when you undo them if any of the threads look rough just replace them. These valve covers typically fail in the passenger rear corner onto the catalytic converter.

Yep all this quality for $72, 000😮😮😮 so many metal parts are now made of plastic in the past 12 years with BMW quality is down tenfold.

BMW sell new pcv diaphragm but the pcv valve doesnt come apart so you have to take the valve cover off . So do you buy a new cover and gasket any way .
