The rest of the council: Aemond is Aegon his heir, besides that he had proven himself capable and lile Larys point out: the whole cause of the Dance is the Green's deaming a woman unfit to rule while there is a male alternative. It would be insanely hypocritical to apppoint a woman as their regent while there is a male heir. Also, a lot of men (also on the blacks side) think women cannot rule during war (but finding them able to during peacetime)

Monster? Why? He's not the worst in his family that's for sure. You could say he killed his cousin but in the show we clearly see that was his dragon and not him who aimed for that. He tried to kill his brother, yes. But monster? Aegon was worse. And you could argue that he was trying to kill Raenys. Maybe he's a monster in his mother's eyes, but not in ours, the show tries to paint a different picture. At least he's not going around murdering infants.

This is ridiculous. It is wartime. Alicent should stay on the council and stand right behind Aemond - she is invaluable. BUT, in wartime you give the regency to a strategic thinker who is both Aegon's heir and a skilled warrior who rides the biggest dragon. Of course, you make him regent. Alicent is a Hightower besides - you do not plunk her in front of Aemond.

Calling Aemond a monster is a bit harsh considering all that he went through. He was constantly ignored by his father, was bullied by his own family for not claiming a dragon and had his eye cut out by his nephew while they were still children. Aemond used to be powerless but now he has power he's trying to prove himself. He's certainly not any worse than Daemon.
