DIY Modern Barn House Living Room Tour

After finishing up the interior of the house and living in it for about a year now, we've found ourselves spending most of our time in the downstairs living area. (Duh!) It's one of my favorite parts of the house. It's wide open, renovated with our take on Scandinavian modern, but still has some Midwestern U.S. barn essence (think Pee Wee's Playhouse meets a Barn meets a cool Daycare... lol).

We did all new plywood plank floors, board and batten ceilings, painted the wood posts and beams white, new drywall, stripped and painted the stairs, installed an indoor "tree" swing, and added a bunch of handmade pieces throughout. We kept the actual house parts pretty neutral and let all the "stuff" we added inside do all the color pop "talking". Check it out!
