It was 2017 when I installed my FiTech. How has the FiTech performed? Here is my FiTech Review.

**NOTE: If you buy a FiTech from Amazon, buy it from FITech, not a third party or FiTech will not be under warranty if something goes wrong**

I installed my 600 HP Fitech EFI Go Street 4 two years ago and I have loved it. The areas I cover in this video:

1. Dependability
2. Quality
3. Power
4. Drivability

Please dont regret making these videos. I own one (yet to be installed) but have found your videos extremely helpful. Just knowing what might go wrong helps tremendously as i move forward. I find your videos very honest and straight forward not just "it sucks".

John, you are why I went with Fitech on my 73 AMC AMX 360, and you are why I enjoy driving it today. I had many of the same issues as you including vapor lock using the truly abominal Command Center and issues with the truly abysmal electrical connections to the handheld display. Worked through all the issues (without any help from Fitech) by just pushing on and tweaking settings little by little. Would i do it again? You bet. Any device capable of real- time analysis of multiple sensor data and real time compution and control to deliver a proper mix of fuel and air is gonna be a nightmare of complexity internally ; Fitech makes it about as easy as anyone could for us folks whith no automotive Engineering degree. Room for improvement? Absolutely. You pretty much covered it. So, please know that you and several other folks who take the time to share their experiences, good and bad, are why I still love this hobby. Thanks, ignore the haters, and keep letting us know of your progress.

Please no regrets. I have a Fitech on my Motor Home. A Ford 76 E350 platform with 460. My problems have not been directly related to FiTech. Your tuning suggestions have been helpful. Thanks!

I just installed my 4th FiTech system and we’ve learned a few things about it. Three were throttle body and one was the Ultimate LS kit. I have to say the LS kit is much better and easier to setup with a couple of exceptions. The 4L60E wouldn’t shift at all so I finally found out that you have to go in the speedometer correction and change the default setting which was 200. After I changed it to 400 it works great. The other issues is vacuum ports on the bottom of the intake and the side of the throttle body. The one on the throttle body points dead center of the throttle cable when you use their cable bracket which you have to buy separately. The fittings that come with it are straight and they point directly toward the valley cover so you have to get elbows for that but the next problem is that the 1/8” fittings aren’t NPT so I had to retap them too. Also until it warms up it sounds like a massive vacuum cleaner under the hood at idle but there is no leaks, it’s just the intake air. Other than those issues it runs awesome.

Please don't regret your experience with FiTech. You've helped me, and im sure others! I have a supercharged sbc 350 in the 600hp realm. It's running perfectly because of your help. Thank you very much!

Nice review. Most folks don’t understand what Fi-Tech has done to the fuel injection market. Price point, self learning throttle body injection has revolutionized the automotive aftermarket. Holley is no better in terms of support - although the brand name does create a calm about it. Let’s just state the facts, putting a sensitive piece of electronics on our shit boxes will have risks. Most people don’t design a fuel system or establish a ground plain that aids in these installations. Marketing has tainted the entire self learning platform with the word “easy”. I hate say it, some of us shouldn’t have wrenches in our hands. User error is likely in every installation. Just think of the phone calls these places get for support? It would you to drink. Great video and I appreciate your honest feedback!😊

I installed my FiTech due fuel percolation problems on warm summer days. I'm good with a carb, but just could not keep the fuel from boiling out of the accelator pump chamber on a new Holley 4160. I tried everything less a cold air system, which was my next move until I accidentally found the FiTech at a much lower price than traditional efi systems. I took the plunge and have been trying to make this work. Your videos have been incredibly help full. Hats off to you!

The First Fitech go efi 4 kit I received worked for about 2 weeks with no actual on road driving of the truck. The unit went dead the first time the the engine heated up enough to start the fan relay at 185 degrees. Calling FiTech does take some time and it was very frustrating to have to through things again and have to return call several times. Definitely not happy with FiTech customer service. I finally had to send the unit back. Very disappointed after spending money on a damaged unit.

When the new unit arrived, FiTech stated that they replaced the ecu with a newer "more robust" unit. So I had to reinstall an all new wiring harness because it was not the same as the first unit I received. The plugs were different size and were wired differently. My first question is why is FiTech sending out "less robust" units in the first place? Why not send out the better quality unit to start with? I seems to me that FiTech has some older units that they need to move and will trouble shoot them as they

To continue, I have had few problems since the new ecu. Your videos have fixed nearly all of my problems. Thank you. The fuel percolation problem is not an issue due to fuel pressure and fuel tank return lines. The FiTech opperates totally different than a carb. I have no power increases and it runs nearly the same except that the throttle response seems slow as compared to a carb. One of your videos talks about changing that adjustment. I will try. I feel that your above video was a very fair evaluation of the Fi tech

Dude on the feedback, screw the negativity! I’ve been researching different ways to efi my bug and your videos are all over. Valid points, user error, hardware faults and all so far in comparison for my application it’s top of the list! So let this serve as the feedback that helps Fitech refine the issues stated. Great vids and input, thank you...

I feel your review is pretty on point. I have had my FiTech about 2 years and I know I have commented a few times on the FiTech. I will say this, until I took my car to someone who really knew the system, I felt like nothing I did was going in the right direction. It was stated to me that the more options you add to this system the harder it is to control.. ie. timing control etc.. Once found the sweet spot in the timing, everything seemed to come together with a little less effort.. There are a lot of people bashing the system, the people I talk to "SEMA, PRI, and car shows" generally have the same complaint 1. Controls are crappy, and adjusting is a pain" 2. the plugin to the controller is the worst. 3. with the base model, you can't hook a computer to it.. With the Holley Sniper, at least you can hook a computer to that one. I just want to say thank you for the videos, they have been a tremendous help in my situation and got me going in the appropriate direction till I found a tuner. Thank You !!

I own FITECH GO EFI 30003 since 2016 purchased from Summit Racing and its still running just fine up to now. The hardest to solve problem I encounter was when the RPM keep running high when engine is hot ... and the spark plug keeps failing once in a while. It turns out that I have to move the fuel filter from the engine bay to the back of my jeep near the fuel tank ... as when hot the mesh inside the fuel filter expands and cause a partially clogged situations .... and then the RPM is raising and also the A/F ratio becomes rich .... I saw this from the handheld controller and by inspecting the plug it was wet. I also put in a CDI box to prevent this from happening again ... ensure the fuel will burn on what ever the FITECH is throwing the A/F ratio ... makes it easier to trouble shoot problem ... I am using a Pertronix Digital HP 510 .. great product and running cool ... very happy with the box and my FITECH also .... since then the setup is bullet proof ... my jeep is a CJ7 year 1981 with XJ 4.0 inline six engine + Isky 282 cam with MOPAR valve spring to accomodate the cam valve lift ... FITECH EFI GO STREET 30003 and DAVIS DUI distributor with Pertronix HP 510 CDI box

To add a bit ... I think if you buy a more expensive system ... the problem will still be the same ... I mean hard to solve for me especially as I am not a mechanic and this is just a fun activity although sometimes turns out tube pain in the neck .... it takes me almost 8 months to solve the wet plug + clogged fuel filter issue ... I finally gave it up and try a last action by sending mail to FITECH support ... to my surprise they responded right away and helped me since then

Keep it up and don't get discouraged by the negativity out there... it's a proven fact people are 10X more likely to complain then to praise... so you have to let it roll off your back. God bless you!

This is not an endorsement for any brand, I asked my mechanic if he knew anything about any of these systems. He has helped a number of customers and friends work thru issues with Holley, MSD, fitech, and edebrock. He recommended MSD based on his experience with 2 different vehicles. He was mainly impressed with their tech people. He says that overall the MSD was just easier to tune to the vehicle. In most cases problems were the fault of installer. Out of all the systems he helped with the fitech was the only one that got sent back. Installation issues we're mainly weak battery, weak alternator, bad grounds, and just bad wiring practices in general. His take is that any of these systems WANT to work but the install/conditions need to be perfect.
I forgot to add this part: the first fitech he worked on was about 2 1/2 years ago, it got sent back. He did one about 6 months ago and the previous issues were gone.

I'm still considering a FiTech for my 66 Chevy (daily driver). But I am pretty happy with my Quadrajet. I get decent gas mileage for a 55 year old truck. 17 mpg at best. Good power, and stone reliability. I'd love to see a Q-jet/FiTech head to head. Maybe I'll have to do a video some day!!!

I just bought a 65 GTO with Fitech. I have to say that I completely disagree with your statement re: ease of use. I think the handheld is very user friendly. The fact that you can program it without a laptop is a huge plus.

I've watched quite a few of your videos about the FiTech and other things. I had planned on putting fuel injection on my bronco this month, but I'm pushing it back to the fall, after seeing the various issues that can come up. I was planning on doing the ProFlo4 because it seems like a good total package and pricewise is really no more than a FiTech or sniper when you add up the manifold, distributor, fuel pump, lines and other things. Now I'm looking forward to your ProFlo install. Keep up the good videos.

I have the fitech gostreet 400. Agree with your comments overall but I'm one of those people that hasn't had any issues. In terms of the controller, the user interface is very amateur but I'd say 5 out of 10.

I've been running a Sniper for 2 years now...it has its issues as well, idle setting is a PITA you can have any idle setting you want, as long as you like 900 rpm. I bought the Fitech 2x4 setup for my street machine in January, but found out the other day that Holley is releasing their Sniper 2x4 in a couple of weeks.:(....fuck it, I've seen the other side of the grass, wasn't as green as I was hoping for...great vid btw

Nice review ... I follow a guy with an 8 second turbo camaro who loves it .. I wanted one big time 👍🏻 but I am thinking the Holley sniper might be a better way to go ..
I have all the features of fitech and sniper .. can use nitrous can do blow through...fan control just a lot of great features... I appreciate you doing these vids it really helps to. Get an honest opinion on stuff ...
So If you could buy the sniper and put a turbo on your truck that would help me a lot hahaha!! Keep up the great vids man!! I don’t respond a lot but I always watch and like the vids!
