Real Steel vs Harnds 14c28n edge retention testing. How well are these two done? I ran this pair due to the current offerings surging in 14c28n. I do plan to get some from Civivi to compare as well as a couple others and see how they all compare to each other. I will also be doing some more 12c27 and talk about it and which of the Sandvik steels I prefer.

Id love to see you test civivi new 14c they are supposed to be running it harder than normal and imo it seems to be true atleast it feels that way i think they said between 61 and 63 or something, but id love to see you test it and see if theres a difference. Which i did see you say you will be so thank you!

Hello, thank you for your effort. It's interesting to me how such a small percentage of people who watched the video couldn't even give a thumbs up or down, so if they don't see anything useful in this, they could also give a thumbs down. Personally, I don't see anything threatening in the cardboard that I would have to attack it with a knife, my obsession is the branches and their thicker brothers... especially acacia and oak, they are hateful enemies... greetings and let's continue

I’m hot for more 14c28n contents. It’s one of the most used steel in traditional french cutlery.

Harnds are heroes, HRC on the 14C28N has been up to 63, Assassin is hitting 60-61 typically. Was just looking at an H6, what great timing. Salute!

I'm really a fan of harnds I have the large silkworm. I really like the upswept point I'm a suck for it.
You really sold me on how good 14c28n is I like it. But I never had a problem with 9cr either of course I can sharpen so really edge is secondary to rust or corrosion.

I've got the Assassin as well as the Wolverine from Harnds and I'm really happy with the quality of the build and the performance of 14c. I think one of those will have to ride with me tomorrow.

Really like 14C28N, been carrying the civivi Riffle Alot lately and it's stopping up nice. What angle do you think would be best to go with on sharpening, I've just touched it up on a high Grit stone and have been stopping but am going to give it my 1st edge. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Enjoy your content. Really want a parra 3 in cruwear love my lightweight to in BD1N. I've basically just followed the factory edge in sharpening with that one. Probably my favourite carry being so light. Thanks

Their black blades are Ti-Ni coated by the way. Love the look ot the new H6s, black blade and orange G10. Platypus by QSP is some serious 14C28N. I'd like to see how Twosun's 14C compares, and Bestech. Very impressed by Harnds, Ruike and QSP's 14C, Harnds' 14C is hitting optimum HRC always. Their D2 is nuts, PMI results show very interesting compositon, vanadium is way higher than I've seen. General/Warrior are too good to be true or not own, love the Assassin and Beak as well in 14C

As a budget steel14C28N is a little better than its parent metals Sandvik 13C26/AEB-L in CATRA tests. I've had 3 different 14C knives and not a single one was above Rc 58 hardness. Seriously, why bother using it if you cut it off at the knees?
14C is a tough steel that it gets from its parent steel because it is fine grained and low carbon so it doesn't make many Cr carbides, but to work at its best it needs to get up there where it was designed to be.
