Nikko, the recruiting problem is so big that Services have to consider letting in people who don’t quite meet the standard but can get to that standard with a little help.

My recruiter had me achieve a goal weight, i was 6 ft. Tall and 200 lbs, she told me to get to 185. I did that, but I actually gained 6 lb in basic. Though i think it was muscle. I had sleeping issues so I was doing push-ups and crunches and pull-ups all night. We did have a few PT failures in basic mostly cuz they were too damn skinny, couldn't do push-ups or sit-ups and watching them, they had no desire to.

It’s a readiness issue, and they’re trying to solve it.

"Fat camp" has been a thing for over 17 years. Brother went through it, had battles go through it. *shrug* it's a thing.

This program is going to help me join the army, it isn’t lowering the standard, it’s helping ppl get to the standard.

I mean, agreeing to ship out to an army controlled weight loss/tutoring program before you can even go to basic shows dedication. I lost 30lb on my own to enlist, but this program would've helped.
