General Manager of Eastside Kia, Kelly Temple joins us in Calgary on a beautiful sunny day with great news…today he does a review on our Kia’s top selling subcompact, the 2015 Kia Rio.

The Rio has become one of our best selling models because it’s priced like a subcompact starting at an amazing $15,680 for an LX / Manual transmission….but it has so many features usually not found in a sub compact model.

Overview:

The 2015 Kia is stylish…It has Kia’s signature tiger nose grill. The front bumper is large and wide with a strong muscular look. With wind tunnel testing, Rio comes with a chiseled aerodynamic design that minimizes wind noise and drag. Body colored door handles and mirror’s give it a fun and sporty look!

Trim Levels:

The 2015 Rio comes in either a 4 door sedan or a 5 door hatchback. And it has three trim levels:
• The entry level LX model which starts at at amazing $15,5680
• The well equipped EX model which starts $20,180
• And the sporty SX – model which starts at $23,980

Today, Kelly shows us Eastside Kia’s most popular selling model, the 4 Dr Sedan – LX Plus model.

Engine:

A single engine powers all 2015 Kia Rio styles and trims, but it comes with your choice of either 6 speed manual transmission or you can upgrade to the 6 speed steptronic automatic transmission combined with the “Active Eco System”.

The engine is a 1.6L, DOHC, Gas Direct Injection power plant providing 138 HP and an amazing 6.3 litres of fuel consumed for every 100 km’s driven.

With Rio LX plus you also have the optional ACTIVE ECO which further improves fuel economy just by pushing a button.

Interior:

The LX plus is popular because it comes with so much standard equipment.

Front heated seats have very comfortable long bottoms seat cushions - and they come with very good seat travel length making the very comfortable for taller people.

And it comes with a Euro-designed interior that is spacious and comfortable.

Optional Equipment:

With many subcompacts, a lot of the really cool options are reserved strictly for higher end vehicles. Not so with Rio, in the EX & SX models, Rio will raise your expectations with features like:
• 17” alloy wheels and cooling glove box are available on SX models
• UVO Infotainment system.
o UVO is a hands-free system that is designed to manage all your communication, music and media.
o You can even store your music right in the system.
• Push Button start allows you to enter and start your vehicle without searching for your keys.
• Rear parking camera for safety
• In dash Touch Screen Navigation and leather interior on SX
• Sunroof
