Unbeknownst to many, these large herbivores are actually part of the deer family and are found in the northern hemisphere in countries like Sweden, Canada and Russia. Hitting the tricep about 2/3rds of the distance from the shoulder to the anterior edge of the body seems to be a good rule of thumb for most mammals.

Probably makes some sort of evolutionary sense, keeping the heart tucked behind the forelimbs just in case.
