I'm really glad I found this video. I very much enjoy my Katana amp, but have not updated it because the last time I did it, it was such an awful, time wasting experience. With your two videos, I will give it another try, but here is what I do not understand: The Boss engineers were obviously quite good at designing the amps, then they come up with different formats to update each of the different amp models. Why not just have the amp update itself, like my compute does? Or why not use the same instructions for all amps?

Inexperienced electric guitarist looking around at amps. Thank you for answering an issue I saw raised in at least one Amz review. I'm a tech by profession so very used to following instructions.
I see the katana is very popular, but also see their support site back end is a maze of sw/fw versions etc.
Why the heck doesn't Boss have ONE continually updated backwards compatible version of tone studio??
Why can't they further automate fw updates via tone studio or a plugin rather than have users jump through technical hoops which obviously result in common errors?

I went through the steps very carefully and as you pointed out here however how can I check to make sure the update worked or did not work?

When Boss created the Katana (and Tone Studio) they should have hired 10, 000 techs to fly all around the world updating peoples amps for them. I bought my MK2 100 when they first came out. No luck yet in installing any updates. I finally gave up and pieced together a pedal board for it. Not happy but, problem solved.

I am starting to see why people throw their Katana AMP away as updates are not working properly.

I downloaded the driver for what I thought was for Windows 11 and not Windows 10 it is not as my computer is a Windows 11 with the 64 bit operation system.

Tried to update my Katina MK11 and there is no folder or files within a folder to begin with for me to move files anywhere.

Here is what I have done exactly to the (t)

Turn the Master knob all the way down, press and hold the CH1 and PANEL buttons down, and turn the unit ON. When you see the LED’s flash, you are in firmware update mode.
