I used laserjet/toner not inkjet/ink throughout the university as a graphic design student and a good quality laser jet does wonderfully when exposing screens. Just putting it out there. I think it's about the quality of the printer maybe. If you want a reliable printer, ink, or toner, you'll need to spend some cash.

I used to use lith film positives for sharp text with indirect diazo sensitized stencils. These positives were ordered from professional typesetters very far from my location. I have long since quit screen printing but find some satisfaction with computer graphics. What I need to know is how inkjet positives compare with lith film quality and opaqueness. I guess you must have used lith film at some time. Thanks for sharing your experience and keeping this interest alive. I'm glad I didn't buy a laser printer so far. If you could suggest a printing resolution for text, it would be nice. Thanks once more.

Laser jet printers work just fine. I’ve used them for all of my prints.

You mentioned using "computer paper" to print on, can regular bond / typewriter paper be used? Will the issue be the thickness or the quality of the paper? I never silkscreened in my life, so I'm getting all the educational info I can as a "newbie", and in the most cost effective way. Thanks!

Hey Nate- Great video - its crazy that no makers have made a video answering such a basic question! Question- I'm looking to print up to 13 inches wide.
