I feel fairly confident doing the speakers in the rear deck of my car now. Ive never installed any speakers or amps or subs nothing like that so It should be fun lol. Now I just gotta decide what speakers I'm going to go with.

Is it fine to use 16 gauge wire for the 6x9s?

I have a pair of 6x9 speakers that I'm putting in my cars back shelf, can I just wire them from my back door speakers wiring them parallel or is there another way to wire them up?

My car didn't come with 6x9s but there's cutouts for them. Do I need to do some cutting to the carpeting trim panel?

WOw, how did you manage to drop the speaker in the ready-made hole so easily? Does it take practice on the car, or is their a special way of warming up? Is it always safe?

Make sure those nice new 6x9s are wired in phase with each other, and with the front speakers

The terminals on the back of 6x9 speaker, one is a small one, the other is larger, which one is positive and which one is neg

i have a 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo Im installing 6x9s in. Im wondering if its going to go as easily as your installation did ?

What is the best way to secure them I used self tappers in my 2010 Chevy Malibu but some of the self tappers fell out so one of my speakers are being held in by 1 and rattles

I would suggest testing all the components before installing them as well. Why take the time of installing something if it isn't going to work in the first place? Right? That said it is still a good idea to check it all just after it's installed and before reassembly of the interior like you said. Something might not be connected correctly and it's a lot easier to fix if you don't have to tear everything apart again. Other than this small suggestion it was a great how-to.

Just purchased 2 6/9 JL AUDIO, wired everything up, they do not work

Can you add a 8” or 10” tube subwoofer in between the two speakers?

So the SW is mounted the same way as those 6x9s.

I KNOW they come with 6x8s!! ;)
Is it a difficult install? I'm not opposed to getting the Dremel back there, and doing some cutting.

Great video man I've been watching for days now I check in the back of my car and I don't have any 6.9 installed but it looks like I have the capability to install them I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze lt 1.4 and I wanted to ask when I do buy the speakers and install them I was buy two wires and for both speakers to link to the back of the factory radio where the speaker wire harness is?

i replaced the 4x6's in my dash with a kicker cs series coaxial set and the grill's where shot so I just tossed them, what im wondering is will the speakers be ok with the sun hitting them directly all the time?
