I was thinking about allowing the patient to "help you count" the pills (one at a time... you can do increments of 3 or 5).
Remember to have that drink handy!

Then, tell it's a game to see how many there are. (if they don't hurt)

Finally reward them with a treat (fruit, veggie, juice, protein shake or protein bar...)


If you know that it hurts, let them help you count them anyway (& allowing them to have something else while they're counting), and call the doctor or nurse and see what they suggest.
