Cajun Fried Cabbage
Ingredients:
1 medium to large head of cabbage
1 orange and yellow bell pepper
1 medium yellow onion
Beef smoked sausage
Applewood smoked bacon
Kerry Gold Garlic and Herb Butter
Tony’s Creole Seasoning
Roasted Garlic Paste
2 tablespoons of Sugar (optional) or however much you want to add
Grape seed oil (optional)
*Feel free to substitute your meat with turkey or beef. OR, Don’t add meat if you don’t want to. Also, sugar is optional. This is my way of doing it. There are no rules to it. Just enjoy.
Instructions
1. Cut bacon into bite-size pieces and Fry in medium heat until brown and crispy.
2. Remove bacon and leave grease from the bacon in the skillet.
3. Place Onion and bell peppers in the skillet and fry for 3-4 minutes. Then remove and set aside.
4. Chop up your cabbage into bite-size pieces.
5. Place cabbage in the skillet along with Garlic and herb butter.
6. Stir and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.
7. Add your seasonings. (Ashley Seafood Secret, Creole, Roaster Garlic Paste, Ginger paste and sugar)
8. Stir bacon, onion and bell peppers back into the skillet and mix with the cabbage.
9. Give it a quick taste test.
10. Add additional seasoning if needed.
11. Serve and Enjoy!
