The SD 865 is already good enough for phones I think
The 888 is overheating almost all the phones that use it
Even the 855 is still am awesome chip and you can run every game with high settings on it

I'm happy to find this video as well as it's comments. At first I was looking at different Xiaomi phones but decided to pick a different brand due to the inconsistency people have with them working at all with carriers in the us. Once I found the 8t the only thing I wasn't sure of was if it were out dated so started checking out reviews and this seals the deal.

If you have the T-Mobile variant it is ip68 and OnePlus said they did the same exact building process. Quote unquote T-Mobile paid the difference.

Idk, no IP certification isn't a big deal for OnePlus because they've demonstrated in the past that they don't have to get the official certification to waterproof their phone (see Dave2D's underwater OP 7 Pro review)

Actually, the phone doesn't have the IC certification in name only. It is waterproof they just cut the cost of the license. Search 8T in water.

Thanks for this. Recently upgraded from my OnePlus 6 to the OnePlus 8t, hoping it's a worthwhile upgrade. Not too fussed about the 9, so felt the 8t would be a good compromise, since they keep going away from oxygen OS feeling like stock android and slowly becoming what they set out to be as being the "flagship killer" they are slowly venturing into flagship behaviour with the elephant in the room of OPPO as well 😂...

But alas great video breakdown on the pros and cons. Looking forward to it and I just hope I can have it as my daily driver for some years to come

I have this phone since june 2021, i have to say after few months updates made the phone's performance less good than it was. After Android 12 is a bit mixed bag . I have to say though that is a beast phone, a very capable and trustworthy daily driver .

I love this phone, I've had it since last year and no problems whatsoever, there's software that you can download that make the images better quality for the front camera and back.

I'm really not sure how the OnePlus 9 or the OnePlus 9 Pro would give anybody better performance. Both of those phones feature the Snapdragon 888 which is a highly unstable chipset. In fact, that chipset is having major overheating issues on every device it's being used in regardless of the manufacturer. I purchased the OnePlus 8T back in April 2021 and I absolutely love it. This phone is all about speed and performance.

IP7 certification.. I haven't gone swimming with any of my phones. I don't know why that is a feature on phones nowadays.

Still happy with my op7 pro. Planning on maybe upgrading to a op9 pro when prices hit $599 or better.
