Realising it's the Hyundai Tucson N-Line, not N!

It can be quite a disappointment when you think you're getting a performance car when in actual fact it is merely a styling add-on. I was all "gung ho" about getting the new Hyundai Tucson N, only to realise it is in fact, the N-Line. Doh! Nonetheless, I actually loved having it for a week. It is a fuss-free, comfortable car all-round. It might cost a bomb, but what car doesn't these days?

Here me out. You are the person I come to watch when I want to laugh my butt off and yet still fulfil my car interests. It’s like Top Gear when it was still good. These reviews are vlippen fantastic and they keep on getting better. Go Juliet!

So this car is like a Mercedes "AMG line" or a BMW "M sport" or a VW "R-line"? Same old car, just prettier and more expensive

19 inch wheels are nice untill you have to go buy tyres.

Still like the previous Tucson shape. The new one seems so narrow even though internally it has better tech and styling

It makes sense to pay the extra money for a I30 N. You pay for the extra performance bump, better brakes, suspension and a slip deferential. But to go and pay so much extra for bits that are only cosmetic over a lesser model does not make financial sense.

I don't know about the Tucson. I sat in a few at a dealership and it honestly feels so cheaply made. The material quality isn't great. Just so much plastic. And for that price it should be better. Even a Chery Tiggo 8 has a much better feeling interior. Hyundais are very plasticky compared to the Kia equivalent. I don't like it. The infotainment system also feels 10 years behind the Chinese and German competition.

Have never understood the point of the Fashion Faux Performance Trim other than its a blatant cash grab. You get the flash with no additional performance or many extra features. The GR Sport Rav4 and Corolla Cross are just as bad as this, only difference is that you get a GR Sport Start Button that improves your 0-100kph time by 5%😂. Anyway, back to this, only if you really want the flagship trim of the flagship model should you go for this. These trims dont make financial sense as these arent collectibles like a i30n, those will be collectibles since the N line is pretty much on its last legs since the guy that started it retired and the next set of performance vehicles coming out of Hyundai/Kia are EV's. This N line stuff is just a expensive imitation.

I would have loved this engine and gearbox combo in the Kia Sportage. Just don’t like the styling of this Tucson.

Juliet, Is there a reason why all your reviews are with GP registered cars?
