I would love to see comparisons of 'expensive' vs 'cheap' brand cars at the same price. For example, Kia Cerato GT: $37, 000, Base Audi A1 Sportback $38, 600. These cars are comparable on price but rarely compared. There are many more of these comparisons possible where the top spec of the cheap brand is around the price of the base model of an expensive brand.

Looking forward to the eventual Sportage vs Tucson episode!

After watching the many reviews of both the Tucson & the Sportage I finally took them both out for a test drive. Both the top spec N-line & GT-Line Diesel engines. I went into the tests fully leaning towards the Sportage and ended up coming out convinced the Tucson was the better vehicle. The interior was better in quality and finishing and the Bose sound system was far superior to the Harmon Kardon of the Sportage. The ride was more comfortable and I was just far more impressed by the Tucson. I have placed my order for the Highlander Diesel N-Line and am expecting it in 3-4 months.

I love how they actually pay attention to small things and details in this.
And not just fill em with marketing highlights, and forget the rest.

Hi Paul, test drove today 15 August the new Tuscon in all three engine forms. I must agree the 2.0L petrol is the least fun to drive, no power what so ever and tries hard to keep up with the traffic. When I test-drive a car I always drive the same route which includes 50/60km zones, 80km zones, 110km zones and also a 12% hill climb as part of the road between Noosaville and Cooroy in QLD. We drove the 2.0L petrol Elite first, slight bumps in the road and it gears back trying to keep the set speed in cruise control. The 12% climb made the car work hard to keep up resulting in 4200rpm revs while the engine was 'hunting' in order to maintain the speed. Then we drove the same route with the 2.0L turbo diesel, what a sweet ride throughout all parts of the route we normally drive. The 12% climb was easily done at 2000rpm - fantastic. as last we drove the 1.6L turbo petrol, also a very nice car to drive, very relaxed driving, a bit more aggressive than the other two, the 12% climb was overcome at 3100rpm but overall a very nice engine. My preference goes to the 2.0L turbo diesel, followed by the 1.6L turbo petrol and as last the 2.0L petrol - definitely not my choice of engine for this car. The 2.0L petrol and the 2.0L turbo diesel were both Elite's and the 1.6L. turbo petrol was an Elite N-line, didn't like the suede in the N-line prefer the leather seating.
Thanks for your reviews, like the way you do these - keep up the good work.

I have been driving the Highlander 2.0 Diesel N Line Model for past 15 days. Waited almost 4.5 months for the vehicle. Very pleased with the performance and also the N Line trim is worth the additional 1k. We absolutely love the vehicle. Big thumbs up to Hyundai 👍🏽. Thanks for the videos. Watched all your reviews whilst waiting for our car.

My family got one of these last week and I have to say, its great. Its very comfortable and luxurious, while also being very fast and fun to drive in sport mode. If your looking at one definitely go for it

As a new Hyundai Tuscon Elite 1.6T N-Line owner, major things I dislike about the car:
- Passenger seat is not electric (pretty pathetic for a $48k car)
- No wireless carplay (buy an adaptor)
- Suspension is fairly stiff (good for curvy roads but you really need to slow down on bumps)
- The sound system sucks
- Poor engine tuning - going up our apartment carpark ramp the engine is underpowered, then engine waits 2-3 seconds, then the turbo kicks in too abruptly jerking the car up
- Piano black is fingerprint magnet and easily shows dust (keep a microfibre cloth in the car)
- No electric tailgate (no 360 cam or ventilated seats)

The standard 2L N/A engine is just way too underpowered for this vehicle. Go with the 1.6T or diesel minimum.

Besides that, its an awesome car. If you can afford it go with the Highlander.

I’d like to see what indicators look like in the exterior segment. It’s great to see the different styles companies make

Please use Decibel meter when talking about cabin noise.
Especially in this vid where it would of been interesting to see the db reading at idle.

I just got the 1.6 turbo petrol 1 week ago. Highlander model with N-line. It’s a dream to drive. One thing they added to diesel that I really wanted was the parking assist (to help with tight parking). But it’s definitely a car that can give cars like Lexus NX and Audi run for money if they ever got around to selling hybrid version.

I think they really missed an opportunity to have those angular brake lights act as indicators and have the rear bumper nice and smooth.
Indicators in the rear bar aren’t always the easiest to see

Always enjoy your reviews, your the best on the net.
It amazes me that with all that technology, the new cars are still not including a built in dash cam. Also that the majority do not have cooling seats, particularly for the hot climate models, this facility would definitely influence my choice of manufacturer on my next car, living in Thailand.

Awesome review Paul. The Tucsons really are Hyundai's benchmark cars. They really put in a lot of R&D into them. They are seriously awesome SUVs. The interior cabin looks so spacious and reachability of all the functions and the infotainment is definitely within hands reach. Loved the extended panaromic sunroof. Would definitely like to take it for a test drive myself too...

Would've liked to see you use the touch buttons whilst driving as Im curious how the lack of tactile feedback effects the driver. Im predicting that the driver would need to take their eyes off the road as they now need to visually confirm they activate the correct function whilst the car jolts with the road bumps etc...

My partner bought the 1.6l turbo highlander model. Absolutely love it! So smooth to drive, almost effortless. Not sure about those who say it has no punch, it has plenty for me. The 360 degree reversing camera with the satellite view is the best I have seen. I really like this car a lot.
