Just Stop Oil protesters throw soup at Van Gogh's Sunflowers painting | AFP

Environmental protesters threw tomato soup over one of Vincent van Gogh's "Sunflowers" paintings at London's National Gallery, in the latest "direct-action" stunt targeting works of art. The gallery in Trafalgar Square said the protesters caused "minor damage to the frame but the painting is unharmed". The painting went back on display a few hours after the attack.

After the previous attack just 3 months ago at the very same gallery by the same group of people, why were they even allowed to enter the museum in the first place? This makes absolutely no sense, both the action and her dumb rant. This was an inside job.

I‘m sure Van Gogh’s life and work have inspired millions and millions of people for generations and will continue to do so. The spiritual power of classic art and the personal stories of those artists behind them must have changed numerous people’s lives in a positive and often immeasurable way. So art is as important as, if not more than, the natural environment.
