i’m not sure but i think i read a couple of times that varicose veins could cause blood clot(s) and are dangerous coz it could climb up to either or both the brain and/or heart, lungs.

I had a big clump of varicose veins in my inner right thigh. While not the same procedure I had them removed via keyhole surgery under a general anesthetic while I was awake -- was painless, but the jerking movement was rather jarring taking them out. 😅


I suffered from nasty cramps due to them that completely incapacitated me due to the pain. After the procedure I've not had any cramps since.

So anyone suffering from cramps due to varicose veins I highly recommend doing something about it!

Prevent varicose veins:

Maintain a healthy weight
Exercise regularly
Elevate your legs
Avoid prolonged sitting or standing
Wear compression stockings
Increase fiber intake
Stay hydrated
Limit high-heeled shoes and tight clothing
Avoid crossing your legs while sitting

These are the result of the veins being damaged. Dont worry blood is still flowing through the veins normally but there is more pressure on the veins in areas causing them to bulge.

The interesting thing here is also that common superglue and medical grade superglue are the same molecule. The difference is on how pure it is and possibly some other co-ingredients. Now, this is by no means a medical advice, but if you cut yourself really badly and you have no other mean to stop the bleeding other than a tube of superglue, you could theoretically use it to seal the wound and quite possibly be okay after it...

You'd figure that if they can image those veins & thread a catheter through that, they'd have enough sense to perform a thrombectomy, or at the very least identify the occluded capillary bed & lymph nodes to administer localized thrombolytics, or antibiotics if there's a infectious disease pathology.
