free SKI CARVING GS ski 27m first day - Reilly McGlashan

I was really excited to try out my new Volkl 188cm 27m radius GS skis. I started my northern winter a few days ago. These are the first two runs from my first day on these skis. I have to say they are amazing. I personally took off the UVO because it suits the way I like to ski better. I feel a little smoother engagement without it. I am looking forward to tightening the radius some more on them. These two runs I was just focusing on feeling out how much speed I need and how far forward I need to be to get the ski to bend, and maintaining contact with the front of the boot to keep that tip engaged. The next few days I made some much tighter turns finding the sweet spot and after the ski started bending evenly from skiing it in, but I do not have any footage. Hopefully get some more footage when I get back on the slopes in the coming weeks.

None of those turns was 27 radius. All of below that. What does it tell you? It tells you that what or rather-whom do you put on the ski is faaaar more important than what it says on the tails. Well done man.

Oooh big boy skis! Still not FIS legal though. But I'm tiny and 190cm with 31m radius is a bit much to be free skiing with joe public. I'm not racing anymore so I just switched to cheater GS skis lol.

Hi, do you have changed the edges angles or are they still 88° - 0.5° ?
I'll test mines for the first time next January at Tignes.
