I laughed once you took a bite of the injera 😂 it’s not sweet at all, just a bit sour as you said. It does pair better with the chicken and everything (sebhi, doro wat). You are supposed to scoop it up with the injera, kind of like a mini burrito. It’s not supposed to be so messy but it does take awhile getting used to eating with your hands if you never have before so it’s a learning process. Thanks for showing my culture food. We have a variety of different cuisines, spices, etc. There’s vegan options as well. Most of it is pretty spicey. Glad you enjoyed it 🇪🇹 ❤

The injera tastes good with the doro (chicken) cause it's not supposed to be eaten alone, that's why it caught u "off guard"
