The world relies on just 12 crops and five animals for more than 75% of what we eat. But the weather is changing and crops are struggling to grow in places they used to. What happens when we can no longer farm the food that we eat?

We follow the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurs, farmers and scientists across Asia as they fight to protect the world’s future food supply. Whilst a traditional farmer in Kerala protects climate resistant rice varieties from extinction, offshore seaweed farmers experiment with growing seaweed in warmer oceans and entrepreneurs in Singapore make instant noodles out of unusual crops.

Very informative video! If everyone learned how to grow at least some of their own foods from the 30, 000 different plants that are edible the food insecurity % will go down. I want to trust in governments but sadly I don’t.

Food security is important so is sustainability!
The air, land & sea are more polluted now cos ppl keep throwing chemical waste & sewerage out into the sea.

Wonder how the upwelling of cool water will warm the sea bottom and destroy the ecology in the deeper reach of the sea? Thank you.

Follow jewish custom in agriculture. Sow & harvest crop for 6 years different crop; rest the land on 7th year since bible times. The sides of the field is for the poor ppl, peasants & migrants. Help your community wherever you are; with anything you have. There is a season for everything. Give in kind: time, effort & money. From a wasteful culture we can learn to maximise the usage thru recycle, reuse, repurpose & upcycle. Next is mininalism & decluttering your life.
