Nokta Makro Legend Update & The Iffy Signals Controversy

It seems that the Nokta Makro Legend starts to ship this week (the week of February 21, 2022). One of its testers Iffy Signals released a very telling target separation iron bias test that the Nokta Makro Legend did not pass.

My most important series is called Becoming A Millionaire Metal Detecting. I am trying to monetize my favorite hobby in order to do it more in the future. In other words, we put the clad we find in the ground, affiliate earnings, and merchandise earnings in to the stock market and we invest it. This show started in January 2019.

Good on you Iffy Signals for keeping things real, being brave, and being totally transparent. You have shown that Legend needs to have a user defined iron bias option, instead of the set one that Nokta decided would suffice. Clearly they were wrong. Thanks for your great work. If only ALL testers were of your ilk. Top testers make a manufacturers reputation. Mediocre ones do not. Simple as that, in my op.

To me it's stunning, that a person at this level continues to get down in the weeds again and again over anonymous internet chatter. She kind of insulted the tester's knowledge as well. The fact that Nokta is looking out for customers on preset iron bias is complete nonsense. My guess is they had a problem and needed more time to fix it. This machine without user adjustable iron bias is not going to compete with the Nox. I was getting tired of waiting on the Legend and then Deus II came out. I can see a market for the Legend, but it does not fit into my toolbox anymore. Thanks for video.

I saw Mike's videos on the Legend and you couldn't ask for a more complete and honest review of a machine. He definitely knows more about what makes a metal detector a good purchase. He didn't cut Nokta Makro down but was encouraging people to hold steadfast and allow them to work through the problems!

When (not if) the new update arrives that has an adjustable iron bias included - because let's be clear it WILL happen - we all have Iffy Signals to thank. All the peasant commoners who slighted him in that NoktaMakro live stream comment section - will be eating crow from the castle. Mark my words...there is ZERO chance NoktaMakro does not update the Legend after this. This man deserves to be raised on the shoulder of the hobby like the true credit to the hobby that he is. Shills take notes - this is how it is done.

I think the legend is still great detector. And still planning to buy one. If there's a issue makro will take care of it. Iffy Signal gave great reviews is a great guy.

You nailed it. Seperation issue. Two distinctively seperated and different tones on the NOX. I didn't hear either of those on the Nokta. Thanks for the video. You bolstered my faith in the Nox!

I was in the market for a new detector at the same time Nokta Makro announced the Legend on the Internet Live Stream. As soon as I saw the way this machine was introduced, I had my doubts about it, and I ran for the hills. Instead of showing the Legends attributes and how it would be the best dector in its price range, Nokta Makro immediately slammed Minelab and Garrett in their video. When I saw this, I knew Nokta was throwing a hail marry into the metal detector market and attempting to bring Minelab and Garrett down to their level. Now, Dilek is using the phrase "fake news." That phrase is an emergency use only phrase, and it is used in total desperation or as a cover-up. Iffy's video was not "fake news." He is good and only reported the facts. I'm so glad I made my choice of the detector that I recently purchased. Does it have its flaws? Yes. But never once have I heard the manufacturer of my machine yell "fake news" as their coil ears continue to break. They replace the coil no questions asked and move on. That's real news.

Great video Merrill. I think Dilek is coming off as defensive. I think she is frustrated about the assumptions a small group of detectorists are making. I LOVE Iffy's vids and have posted them all along with Dilrk's responses. I can't wait to get the machine in my hands. Keep these coming!

Hi Merrill - love the video also love iffy and dilek. How Hard is it for nokta to just say we are growing and learning through our customers input. We are striving to be the best and we will be diligent with updates and setting adjustments to make this machine the best we can, and we are doing it for less!! we cannot forget the price difference as well. they have a lot to hang their hat on at this point . i just wish they would tone down the arrogance and competition side of this leave that to US!!! i ordered mine when they were first available as well . im going to do my comparisons to older models of Nokta first . i appreciate you my friend great content as always!!

Amazing how fast the evolution of detectors has changed to current day. Garrett was the brand I started with in the 80’s and I was hoping their new Storm series gets them back into the mix of being either at or ahead of the modern-day detector tat take on both the Minelab Xterra Elite and the Nokta Triple Score at the value end of Simulateous Multi-Frequency, and take on the XP Deus II and Minelab Manticore at the higher end offerings.I’ve put my purchase decision off until after the upcoming June 18th reveal from Garrett. If Garrett disappoints, then it will be either the XP Deus II or Minelab Manticore for my next purchase.

Just a heads up, you will dig a lot more aluminium with the Deus 2. It rings up all over the place. And, like the Deus 1 it is a tonal machine so you really have to focus on the sounds it makes over each target and less about the numbers. I am also still waiting for the Legend.

The whole reason I wanted the legend was to find good targets on iron infested beaches. Until they fix the iron separation issue, I will be missing half the good targets. I will have to wait for more updates and tests.
