Hi, I am the son of two artists and began painting in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia before I could walk. I was a rare combination of artist and athlete so I moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to play football for USC. I left the team my sophomore year to focus on painting and filmmaking, applying the same focus and discipline from my football career to my art. I primarily work in oils, and spend most free days painting "en plein air" around Los Angeles.

Your corrections videos are the best on YouTube. Too many artists are embarrassed to show that their painting went astray and rather play it off of not reveal it. The reality is that every painter understands that painting itself is the act of correcting midtakes

so if the skin tone is off do you advise taking the paint off with turps or going over with a new coat of dry oil paint ? thankyou for your video too

Great demo, very informative, we learn a lot through our re-evaluating. Just wondering, when you work from a pic do you correct the proportions given that the photograph compresses, shortens and widens the face ?

Hello I'd like to ask if this painting is already dry or still wet? Thanks

Where’s the video of the completed portrait? At the end of this one her mouth doesn’t look realistic but a little cartoony so I want to see you fix that. I’m having the same problem right now.
