Tutorial: Changing Your Watch Strap

I had a conversation with a client and we were discussing the strap options on a watch that he was purchasing.

He asked "how hard is it to take the bracelet off and put on a rubber strap"? I told him that I'd make a video and post it that shows the process, so here you go Jim!

GREAT WORK JOHN! This type of thing those of us who've been around the block take this stuff for granted! One thing I would recommend, even though you aren't a fan of bracelets is a video showing how to properly size a bracelet yourself showing different styles like the pin and collar, screw type, and folded pin. This was something I never attempted before getting my Turtle last year and it's a great little skill to have. Looking forward to my Nazario!

Hi John, really interesting video as always. Tempted to try this with a MRG G1000B and Breitling Ocean Master as like yourself, not really a bracelet guy. Different connections though to what you showed so may be a watchmaker job. Thanks anyway, as idea was much appreciated.

I did change the strap on my Seiko SRP515K1 last week. It was my first time changing a watch strap but thanks to a similar video by TGV i was successfull. Awesome video John, thanks for showing different watches.

Good to see a how to video. However you should split the bracelet into two first makes the strap change very easy. Try it and see

Great video. It would be nice for someone to explain watch movement caliber and grades and how that relates to accuracy. Also how accuracy can change with a new watch as it settles in. Is there a place on your site where someone can get hats and shirts and other WatchGauge gear?

Sometimes the spring bar scratches the inside of the case
