I took an online summer course. When he said it's easy to fall behind. It's REALLY easy.

weird tip: if you’re having trouble taking online classes seriously, try putting your shoes on before class. (jeans work too) for me, it tricks my brain into thinking i actually have stuff to get done.

Additional tips:
1. Start the day with a walk (and sunshine)
2. Plan regular breaks
3. Try to use good posture
4. Try walking while you listen to lectures instead of sitting. Sitting all day is not good for you

I think the biggest problem for many is the environment at home is not the best to study.

Tip: if you have a spare computer monitor or even a tv, using it to expand your computer screen is a great way to watch lectures/view slides, while also working on taking digital notes

God bless you for making this so early in the semester. I'll probably watch this every week because it's so informative

Schools need to test different possibilities. Online classes work great for some. But I think colleges should decrease tuition if classes are taught online!

After my first semester of online classes in my Master's program I can attest to the fact that Thomas hit this one out of the park. 10/10 would Thomas Frank again.

Missed opportunity to call this "Thomas Frank's Declassified Online School Survival Guide". Still a fantastic video!

My real education as a teenager was:

1. Books I chose to read myself
2. Learning to manipulate/program computers (taught myself)
3. Video games (found them myself)
4. Maths/Humanities for Idea generation/connection (school)

#1-3 happened despite formal schooling, not because of it.

The Online world also helped me develop my current _YouTube_ channel projects, blog, courses and overall digital world exploration.

Tip adding to your "breaking up the day": do housechores as study breaks. I always clean the house when I'm tired from working in front of my screen. Wiping the walls, greasing the sofas, and washing the carpets can be a real workout and you'll feel more productive than just walking up and down the stairs.

Online classes are a double edged sword:
It is convenient to attend them from home but it is so easy to get distracted.

I'm just hoping that libraries are open again next semester. I found out that it is super hard for me to get to work on things when I basically don't really leave my home. And I only have 1 room + the bathroom so I can't even go to another room.
And because I don't really leave my room much, I kinda loose my sense of time and get up at around 10am. It sucks. I want to change this. Breaking up my day is a great start.

I find it funny that when Thomas always ends with "as always, I'm not your dad" and then I think about the possibility that his future child watching his videos and wondering if he/she is adopted.
