Why don't politicians just answer the damn question?
Politics is a messy game. On one hand, everything you say, do, or tweet in the political arena is sifted through with a fine-tooth comb by the media and public and is remembered forever. And nowadays, everyone seems to be walking on eggshells, so one tiny slip up can destroy your entire career. Meanwhile, on the other hand, you have a lot of corruption and straight up lies coming from politicians, themselves. Again, politics is a corrupt and messy game. However, what's always been interesting to watch, from the outside looking in, is how skilled politicians are at avoiding to answer the questions they are asked. Whenever a politician is asked a question, they never seem to answer it directly. It's always some ambiguous, pre-written, safe statement that gives the viewer no clear understanding of not only where they stand on certain issues, but also how they plan to do the things they say they're going to do. It's a mix of lies, deception, and cluelessness. So, why are politicians so skilled at dodging questions, why do they dodge questions in the first place, and how do they do it? Well, let's find out!
