Example of how to solve PDE via change of variables

Hi Chris, thanks a lot for your videos, they are tremendously helpful. I have a question: How would apply apply the change of variables method to a PDE with more than two arguments? Could I do it to reduce the dimension of the problem several times until I get an ODE, solve it and them get back to the original problem? Thanks a lot.
