iOS 18 - Every New Apple CarPlay Feature

iOS 18 introduces many new features and changes, including some updates specific to Apple CarPlay. The new CarPlay features should work on iOS 18-supported devices and will automatically appear on your vehicle equipped with Apple CarPlay. In this video, I go over and demonstrate the new features of iOS 18 on Apple CarPlay in a 2024 BMW X5.

Wouldn’t you turn silent mode on, if you don’t want notifications from multiple devices?

What you stated is incorrect. If you don't want notifications on your phone, you need to select "Turn Silent Mode On".

You could try navigating using “tap on “ command within an app. Like “Tap on library “. You could also try asking “show numbers” and then navigate throughout the system just like the iPhone.

I think the siren test failed because the iPhone is doing the recognition, not the car, and the iPhone is designed to not get triggered by sounds it makes through its own speaker.

If you are playing music in the cabin too loud to hear a siren then the CarPlay microphone won’t be able to hear it either
