iOS 18.1 BETA 3 and iOS 18 BETA 8 - New Apple CarPlay Features: iOS 18.1 introduces many new features and changes, including some specific updates for Apple CarPlay. These new Apple CarPlay features should work on all iOS 18-supported devices and will automatically display on vehicles equipped with Apple CarPlay. Thnx for the helpful summary. Hv u ever exp with car speaker being silenced when switching between apps?

In the beginning, everything works fine with car play, GoogleMap and Youtube on. But after you rcv a call & hung up (e.g. via LINE app), the car speaker goes silenced for Youtube, Music, etc... even though those apps r still running on screen. (Google maps still sound fine).

The only way to reset this is to turn off & restart car engine.

Tried recording video as car play was playing music… when I go into video mode… it still pauses it… is there something in the car play menu I need to change?? ( I’m on 18.0)

The voice control functions like the voice control on Xbox one before the update from the Kinect dashboard, which it’s quite different because it shows you only the words you can say, but not everything at least in some sort of way that you can just say the word what action you want to do.

Thanks for the info... I have a 2022 Acura MDX and iPhone 15 Pro (w/ up to date iOS and no betas), and thought I might ask you a CarPlay question. When receiving messages, CarPlay used to alert and play the message and THEN ask "would you like to reply?". It doesn't seem to ask that anymore. Instead, it seems to play the message and then wait a bit -- I notice an arrow on the right side of the message, and then if I hit the arrow (before the message disappears...), it then brings up a "reply" "cancel" etc. screen. Do I have a setting turned off or has this changed with past iOS updates? Thanks!

I updated to 18.1 I'm living in th eu. when I use CarPlay there is no message icon and also no whatsapp icon any more on te cardisplay. they are also not available in the "CarPlay" settings on the phone. In settings for the app, both apps are selected for visible in CarPlay. Does anyone has een idee how this is to solve ? thank you in avancend.
