I live in Southside, AL which is connected to Rainbow City and separated by the Coosa River. What you are leaving out is the rivers that run through many towns across the state.

It’s not true that Alabama is warm all year. It has 4 seasons with hot summers and mild winters that are colder but not frigid.

I'm currently retired in a very nice North Mississippi college town. Last week, I drove to Boaz, Alabama for some health treatment. Looked like a really nice rural area, but I don't hear good things about nearby Gadsden. The map shows that Rainbow City is just south of Gadsden, but I didn't get a chance to check it out.

If you can include average house prices with your information that would be very helpful.

I grew up in Alabama. I am now retired in Thailand. I find it amazing that Alabama is considered a good place to retire. I'm sure it's cheaper than New York or Los Angeles, but there are many reasons NOT to retire there.

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274, 800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

At the beginning of the video you said over age 65 pays no property taxes. I don’t find that anywhere. Maybe, their tax rates are frozen at age 65?

I was gonna move to Alabama but heard that I wouldn't be allowed to play my Neil Young records.

Very good subject. I’m also looking for a nice place to retire but I want to retire in my 40s or 50s 😂 so I also don’t want a city where average age would be like 80 😂 One q about AL though. Do they charge income tax on Roth IRA? I thought Roth IRA meant that we never pay taxes on it later as we contribute post tax.
