Glendale and Burbank both have Metrolink regional rail service to Union Station (the Glendale station can briefly be seen in the 1944 film noir classic "Double Indemnity"), as well as Metro and community bus service - good to know if either you or someone you live with either can't drive or is temporarily without a car. Woodland Hills has a bus link to Metro's Orange bus rapid transit line to North Hollywood or Chatsworth, while Echo Park is home to several Metro bus lines. Torrance Transit isn't directly served by LA Metro, but has a bus line connecting to its Green line light rail.

Brilliant video... this is what people fear the most about living here, so it's super helpful to know you can find places that are both safe and affordable (relatively speaking)!

Great insights Anj! All of these neighborhoods are beautiful. I think I'd probably personally pick Glendale or Woodland Hills, but I could see being happy in any of them.

I wouldn't mind living in Torrance actually. I like being by the beaches. I currently live in Long Beach.

It's not really nice to say that Echo Park neighborhood has a dark past and bright future when long-time businesses and residents are being displaced through gentrification. 🙁

I heard skid row is the cheapest in LA to live in 🤔

Not to be rude, but this lady doesn't have a clue of what 'affordable' housing means.

LOL...the cheapest listed rent is ~$1400 and all homes still over ~$500k...not sure you really understand what "working class" is. Unless the people working at the gas stations and retails stores are making upwards of $70k/year they can afford a tent on the sidewalk or a hostile room -smh.

Why do Brits pronounce LA as Los An Gee Lease lol? Maybe we should pronounce Manchester as Mean Chewster in response
