Broward sheriff discusses staffing issues as questions rise regarding unanswered 911 calls

Broward County is feeling the impact of a nationwide shortage of 911 dispatchers.

There's no excuses ! Raise the pay, hire the amount of employees you need, & get all the calls answered ! They're being paid with tax payers money... What's the real issue ? Get it done !

I Had to Move to A Different county due to this failure of no help.. I called 6 times and no 1 came to see if I was dead or not. Smh what a shame..

Maybe don’t make the hiring process as hard. Overlook some certain aspects. Raise the pay! Now you’ll get some employees.

I Called 911 and I was dispatched to Sheriff and NO 1 CAME.. I WAS ALMOST KILLED AND THEN I GOT A CALL BACK FROM BSO ASKIMG ME IF I WAS HELPED OR NOT.. NO 1 CAME TO MY AID.. AFTER A DOMESTIC DISPUTE..

RAISE the pay to $28/per hour and after 6 months $30/per hour. Offer bonuses.CONTRACTS/PER DIEMS(weekend shifts) People get burnt out; overwhelmed with short staff

This is what happens when you vote Democrat, mismanaged funds that should go to hiring more LEOs. Cities within Broward have some of the highest property taxes in Florida (Lauderhill, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, etc) how is it that they can’t afford to hire and increase pay for law enforcement?!!??

It's very stressful. You can give more money but without staffing it does not matter. Go back to City's having their own 911 call centers

Everybody needs to step it up…people don’t give a crap about “tense” exchanges, they need safety and security….Commissioners need to step it up as well it does NOT matter that Sheriff Tony was appointed by Gov Desantis and there’s different political alignments….Dude people are suffering GET THE JOB DONE AND DONE THE RIGHT WAY!!!!
